Stan Ballas – Founder / President
Mr. Ballas is an executive management professional with over
40 years domestic and international experience in satellite, terrestrial and
intermodal turnkey projects, the past 25 years in senior and executive
management, and business owner. His vast international hands-on business
experience include turnkey projects in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, The United
Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Italy, Germany, Switzerland,
Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Honduras and Canada.
Mr. Ballas has held the positions of Executive Vice
President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Vice President,
Senior Director and Senior Engineer in corporations that include General
Electric, NEC America, Orbital, ORBCOMM, TracerNET and pre-IPO start-ups. Total
turnkey business and operational responsibilities included corporate and daily
business level management, all aspects of pre-and post sales activities including
RFPs and proposals, RFQs and quotations, budgets, schedules, staffing, product
and equipment and system designs, engineering, documentation, manufacturing,
system integration, delivery, turnkey implementation and deployments, final
invoicing, and outside third party contractors.
Mr. Ballas has handled high valued complex projects and
systems in over 18 countries, including the US, using more than 35 direct
report employees plus on-site supervisors, indirect consultants, and
contracting companies. He has experience as a founder forming pre IPO start-up
technology companies, and is the owner of an international satellite,
terrestrial and intermodal business. He has also raised capital and worked with
Wall Street investment banks.
Mr. Ballas has engineered and deployed turnkey systems,
services and solutions that include: Global Intermodal and Container GPS and
M2M locating, tracking, monitoring and controlling Fleet and Maritime
Management Systems, Port and Remote Fixed Asset control and management systems,
GPS tracking and navigational systems, Global Satellite Gateway Earth Stations
(GESs) with tracking and controlling telemetry systems, Ground Infrastructure
with Network Operations Centers (“NOCs”), long haul microwave e/w multiplex and
supervisory control systems, specialty antenna systems, HF single sideband
systems, long haul fiber optic systems, cellular, mobile and trunked radio
systems, point-to-point and point-to-multi point wireless broadband voice and
data communication systems, global telephony and data networks, IP transport,
Avionics secure data and voice communications, special event backhaul and
broadcasting and video Teleconferencing.
Mr. Ballas’ total
hands-on turnkey site development work includes: site/land location and
selection, real estate purchases and leases, civil engineering, site
excavation, FCC, regulatory, permitting, zoning, licensing, easements,
right-of-ways, environmental impact compliance, utilities, buildings and
shelters designs and construction, towers e/w antenna systems, foundations,
ports and waterfront, auxiliary power including diesel powered generators and
UPS power plants e/w hitless hot transfer switches.
Mr. Ballas is an Electronics Engineer from Harrisburg
Electronics Technical Institute, Pennsylvania; GE Corporate Business Management
and Finance from General Electric’s in-house corporate program, Business
Administration, Finance, and Real Estate Principles for Brokers and Virginia
Laws Governing Real Estate Transactions certificates from Northern Virginia Community
College.
